In my third year in the Engineering program at the University of Maryland, I am an accomplished student with a special interest in the sciences and math, including honors and AP level material in biology, chemistry, calculus, algebra, trigonometry, and physics. I already have ample tutoring experience with middle and high school grades, as well as honors and college level students. Having once sought tutoring assistance myself for ACT test prep, I know first hand what good preparation can do for a student arranging to take standardized tests.My philosophy is that there is not one approach to solving a problem. In fact, if I can help a student understand the material well enough to see that there are multiple approaches to the same solution, I feel I have done my job correctly. Problem solving is an academic and life skill, and whether it is studying, test preparation, or time management, the skills I teach will be applied in all aspects of life. By establishing good rapport and making my students feel comfortable, I create an atmosphere ripe for learning.My interests outside of my studies and tutoring include sports--soccer is a favorite, as well as focusing on fitness and playing the occasional video game.
